Slowly but surely
Drove thing home with a shock and mount in the passenger seat... the most uncomfortable bucket seat ive ever had the pleasure of sitting in, and dog hair blowing around inside like a tornado...

First thing i did was weld the rear shock mount back together, but the second i did was clean up the interior.. it ran and drove ok but i wanted to be comfortable..

i yanked the front aftermarket bucket seats and got some seats out of an astro van that matched good and were much cleaner

The rear seat was decent so i shampooed it and got it super clean..

New lmc carpet kit, car1 usa dash... retrosound radio. Bought some fabric and changed the head liner and made some side panels for the back.. originals were completely thrashed...

I dont love the subs where i put them so i plan on re doing the panel and moving the subs under the seats.. decided to kilmat the thing to help reduce some rattles.. and some nice pad for the rear carpet..

After that, it was time to take care of the motor... i had a tbi 350 out of an 87 burb sitting in an unfinished yj out back that i decided to rebuild in the garage to minimize down time...

Tore it down completely and had it decked and bored 30 over.. crank balanced. Flat top pistons

Found some 906 vortec heads, had them magnafluxed and gave them a valve job

Bought the gm performance intake so they would mount up no problem

Sent my chip to brian harris to have it cut to run correctly and delete the air pump so i could run some long tube headers...

This was the first motor ive ever assembled so i took my sweet time and tripple checked everything... been a couple years and shes running solid

While the motor was out, i had the trans rebuilt to stage 1.. whatever that means

NIce. I am just finishing up some rear panels for my K5 as well, mine is a 78 and didn't have them in there. Did something similar like yours, and have the Kilmat as well.

I haven't updated those in a long time. The wheeling rig just sits, and I've been working on the K5 a little before my kid is born.... which is any day now

Got started on the new rear interior panels. I grabbed some rosin paper that i use at work to patern floors around doors and stuff. Taped it up straight and carefully started cutting and marking mounting locations... tomorrow will transfer to whatever wood I decide to use.. probably 1/4 sanded ply.. will cut a hair fat and then creep up on it

Finished the panels. First i glued some rubber tool box liner to give them some padding, then wrapped with the vinyl... i had to paint the vents but they turned out ok... the panels are secured with 1/4-20 nutserts which is a little overkill but what i had on hand... will need to switch out the finish washers for a size bigger but for now will work... added some vents for the amps sincr i left those back there... over all very happy

Did some hay rides for the family to see Christmas lights. Some of the elderly folks didnt want to climb in the blazer so i threw some hay in the drop deck. Lots of fun
