Hello, I've been building cars most of my life and have always wanted to do a K5. I live in Tucson AZ so finding a rust free relatively complete/straight body was a goal. I wanted a TBI 700r4 rig so I went with an 88 or newer and luckily scored exactly what I wanted for an excellent price. Over the last few years I have slowly done some mods and restoration. It's my DD that I occasionally take off road so I built it more for comfort and reliability but do plan on beefing up the suspension and drive train. The PO completed some of the basics like a 2.5 Rancho lift and reinforced frame at the steering box. I have completed a TPI swap with Megasquirt stand a lone engine management, mild stereo system, 05 Suburban interior swap, paint, complete weatherstrip replacement, carpet and custom rear 1/4 upholstery with backlit plexi glass bowtie's. The coolest part is everything including the paint have been done by me. Here is a pic of the truck when I purchased it.

Suburban interior retaining the same functionality on the rear seats utilizing the Burb third row seat.

The TPI set up and custom airbox I made out of fiberglass housing a K&N. My brother is an electronics genius and helped me get all the tuning completed. The truck runs amazing and sounds great with true dual exhaust I installed with dual cats and Flowmaster super 44's. Sorry the engine needs a bath, the monsoon winds and dirt are hard to stay ahead of this time of year here.

Lastly, my small system with down firing sub and my custom 1/4 panel inserts I made from scratch. The bowtie's light up at night, it's cheesy but I thought it was a cool touch and something different. Let me know what you think about my K5 and if you have a questions about any of it I'd be more than happy to give more details/help another member. Thanks for checking my rig out!

Is it a TPI engine, or did you just put a TPI setup on the TBI engine?

It's the original TBI engine with TPI intake but it made a world of difference although having the stand alone and someone that knows how to dial in tuning has made a big difference as well. I'll probably go roller cam motor later on but most likely an aluminum head LT1 with coil on plug. The specs are really close to the LS series of motors and not having to mess with motor mounts, relocate ac, etc is always nice. Thanks for your comments!
