\'88 K5 - TH400 or 700R4, that is the question.

My 700r4 has lost 3rd and 4th again (rebuilt it a year ago, same problem).Another 700r4 or swap in a th400? What are the opinions out there? What would it take to do the swap? Any differences in length, bell housings, output splines?
I have a stock TBI 350 and an NP208 t-case.

If you go TH400 trans, you will have to change the input coupler on the 208 t-case to adapt the 400 turbo output shaft. Also you will have to get a TH 400 adaptor plate for the swap. Drive shafts should remain the same. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
