this is going to be a little long, so please bear with me...many questions.

my 88 k5 is pretty much rusted beyond belief and its time to change. i just picked up a 88 suburban for a good price. very clean and no rust. 350 FI/700r4/208/10/12bolts.

1) my 88 k5 has a 6'' lift and almost new 35's on it. can i pull the suspension off the k5 and throw it on the burban? everywhere i look i'm getting yes and no's about it being possible.
the k5 is up there pretty high and never needed any driveline mods, so i'm assuming the burb wont either...
oh, the k5 is also running same drivetrain as the burb. the lift is a 6'' spring up front and a 4'' leaf out back with 2'' inch block.

2)another question is i just sold my lowered c10 and have unused drop shackles for it from western chassis(2'' drop shackles)....can i use them on the burb instead of the blocks? i personally hate blocks...to lift the rear up?

3) i unfortunately lost all my favorites when my computer broke and i am having trouble locating build threads on 'cheap' homebrew lifts....ie: 52''swap, hanger flip, etc. anyone have any links to cheap lifts?

basically i'm just looking to run the 35's i have now. as it sits, on 6'' lift, the k5 can just about clear 37's, 36's clear now problem. i just want to throw the 35's on the burb and use it for this winter. am i safe with being able to swap the suspension onto the burb?

i'm not looking for a flexing monster(aint nowhere to go in northwest nj  ) just up enough so i can go thru some of the local trails.

sorry for a long post, and i did search(google and here) but for some reason the search isnt working on here for me...? any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

As far as the suspension, it shouldn't be any issue at all. Although I doubt the Burb would have the 12b in the rear, it should be a 10b in the rear, same as your Blazer. I currently have Burb rear springs in my Blazer, and the axles are in my garage for rebuild and install later. 12b's were discontinued in either 82 or 83, maybe a bit later, but they stopped well before 88.

The drivelines can vary from vehicle to vehicle, so there may still be a need to replace the drivelines with a 6" lift. Just keep that in mind.

I don't know about the drop shackles, never seen it tried that way. However, 2" drop shackles will normally only net out about 1" of drop/lift. So they may not be enough to replace the 2" blocks. I don't care for blocks either, but 2" blocks are going to give you less hassle than a 4" block would.

Sorry I don't have any links on cheap lifts, mine was $75 for each end, and that included 4.10 geared axles.

sorry, forgot to mention that my k5 had the rear swapped early in its life for a 12bolt. the burb...had a 12 bolt swapped about 3 weeks ago when the 10bolt grenaded itself. i purchased the burb with a spare d60, 14b, and a 9''.

you should be able to swap everything over and should all fit.they are virtually the same up front.the rear may be different length spring.just check and make sure they are the same length eyelet to eyelet.also unless you have a shackle flip in the rear, you cannot use a longer shackle there.it would actually lower the truck if you are using a stock hanger without fliping it.
