I have a vibration that starts 15-30 mph (almost feels like the driveshaft is whipping) it goes away and comes back around 55. I replaced the u-joints, checked for play in the pinion yoke and axle bearings and all good also replaced the tailshaft bushing. Tires are OK. I have some radial play in the yoke coming out of the transfer case (208) and would like to know how much if any is acceptable? The shake/vibrations is always there, but sometimes feels worse at the same speeds I mentioned. THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY? Forgot to mention acceleration and putting in neutral have no effect on the vibration.

How much play is acceptable? This would cause some slop in the output shaft? I don't have any noise that indicates a stretched chain. Just trying to figure this out. When vehicle is cold the vibration is less, it gets worse after driving for a while.

1/2 inch of play on the chain is what they say should be max, thats how much mine had, also this could be caused by a bad pinion bearing, do a search on transfer case vibration
