I'm slowing crawling along on my resto project, and am getting to the rockers now. I did a web search to see what's out there and found a piece for front outter cab floor and inner rocker panels at J.C. Whitney. This costs more than the outer rocker panel. I don't need any of the cab floor. But, the inner and outter rockers are rotted away. Has anyone used these pieces? I wonder why they cost more than the outter rockers. Any comments or suggestions would be appriciated.

If you are having to replace your rockers due to rust and the like, why not just cut come completely out on both sides and well in some 1/4" wall tubing for sliders. If you search around you will find many people have done this and have posted pics also.

Thanks for the suggestion. But, I'm sentimentally attached, and determined to bring this back to original. I'm new to body work and am trying to learn how to use my welder as I go. I don't want to bite off more than I can swallow.

hey, have been meaning to get back to this post for a while just have not gotten around to it lately. i just replaced the passenger rocker on my k5. got the rocker from lmc and have a little lincoln welder. i'm a beginner to body work as well but so far so good. best advice i can give ya is be very patient and get everything as clean as possible. if not it will probably come out worse than it was. if ya give me couple of days i've been trying to get my hands on a camara to snap some pics. i'll post them on here as soon as i can get them
