Hey gents,
I have an 88 Blazer that is intermittently losing power and bogging down to the point it wont maintain highway speeds. a friends is driving it currently, so i haven't actually been able to get it to happen for me. It has new new fuel tank, pump, filter, plugs and wires, and cap and rotor. any ideas of what to check would be a huge help.

thanks

Is it acting like it is running out of fuel for an instant then coming back? Or does it slow down and stay there?

Does it still have a catalitic converter ?...might be breaking up inside and blocking the exhaust flow..
Old rubber fuel line hoses and ethanol gas do not get along well either--might be one that is collapsing internally and restricting fuel flow enough to starve it at high speeds or loads..

I'm sorry I took so long to reply, between work and trying to get my wood in for the year, fixing my daily, and a jeep i bought to get my buddy out of my square body... its getting worse, I finally experienced it, it felt like it wasn't getting fuel, I also remembered that the fuel pump was used in the old rusty tank and it still has the cat. so this weekend no more pancake cat (love no emissions testing) new pump, and my buddy bought a fuel pressure regulator, so i will throw that in as well. I'll try to keep you guys updated

These have a regulator at the throttle body, might look elsewhere

This come and go? Or lose power and it’s gone?
Better when it’s cool or cooled off?

I'm replacing the one at the throttle body, I wasn't aware of any others. comes and stays for at least a key cycle. better when cold. as i said, fortunately its getting worse, so I may actually be able to find it

Curious what you find since my 90 is doing the same thing. Get's worse as it warms up. Then when you let it sit for longer than 30 minutes and go to start it, acts like it's flooded.

ok so a bit a drama and a month later...I got a different tbi from a guy at work, cause my old one got cracked by a certain idiot. that appears to be the issue, i hit 55 without issue. so I would bet on the fuel regulator having been the actual issue, and the fuel supply line is kinda crushed, looks like the po crushed it when he did the clutch. so after i fix the other things that he "fixed" i will actually road test it
