I'm looking at a 2wd 89 GMC Burb. It has the 454/Auto. and is as clean and unmolested as they come. It's sportin 113k on the odometer and looks great! What are these trucks rated at as far as towing? Can I drag 8-9k behind it safely?

I would say if it has 4.10's, up to 15000 GCWR as long as you have a class 4 weight distributing hitch setup. And maybe 13000 GCWR with 3.73's. That should be a T400 in it, so its up to the task, but make sure you have a huge cooler on it.

The truck ended up not being as clean as I had hoped for.

What you dont see in their pictures is the rust popping up around the windshield and 1/4 windows.
