Does a R3500 2WD single rear wheel truck with a 350 have the same frame as a V3500 4WD dually?

Are the saddle tanks interchangeable? What about the cab itself? What kind of rear axle should I expect to find on it?

We found a nice 2WD that we might like to use for parts for our '91 crewcab dually project.

Essentially all crewcabs are one tons. Everything is the same for the most part. The only real difference I have seen is some of the 3/4 tons had 3/4 ton brakes and some have the 1 ton brakes. The dually rear axle should be is a Dana 70 if memory serves. Bodys are the same.

2wd drive frames are different up front near the front cab mount 4x4 frames are taller from there forward

but everything else is virtually the same

Frames differ from 2wd to 4wd.

Saddle tanks are the same.

Cab could be different where the trans hump is. Some 2wd had small short tunnel.

Rear end should be a 14 bolt.

thanks for the quick replies guys. well i guess the truck won't be adequate for my dad's V3500 dually, but what do you guys think the 14 bolt would be worth? (thinking about my blazer) would that be a full float or semi floating axle?

Full floater. Around here they go for $100-150 for a stock unit.

To put it in a K5 would require relocating the spring perches & shock hangers.
