89-91 quad beams!

they use bulb # 9006xs, dont have to be silverstars.

i would presume the high beam is a different bulb number.

ps they come with regular sylvania 9006xs.

So you have actually done this on an 89-91 set up? How is it? Worth it?

yeah, i have them on my 91 k5 with quad lights DD.

As i said before they do seem to be much brighter and spread the light much better. Unlike the sealed beams which had two dots of somewhat bright light on the road and crappy light everywhere else.

At 30 bucks each(housing and bulbs, bulbs are 13 buicks i think by themselves) they do cost more but the bulbs that are used in the lights are rated to last 2-3 times longer too.

worth it? Heck ya they are worth it.

but, my concern is, do they put the light where you need it? down on the road?

I suppose you could always aim them down and in a little....

Anyone else actually done this upgrade on a 89-91 quadlight setup?

Would I be better off just doing the relay upgrade? or both?

I just put these on my rig, and I went ahead and ordered the relay harness to go wtih it. All I can say is WOW. I noticed how spread out the light was and it was actually quite perfect. The high beams can only be surpassed by off road lights. Another thing I noticed is how the high beams spread the light to the sides also, and not just strait ahead. I love the new look too.

What about mounting turn signals behind the grille like the stacked double headlight setup?

if you do the 8 headlight thing this would be the ticket! or the leds between the top and bottom set like i said b4.

neverending project what kind of bumper is that?

ok, I juust scanned the entire thread and I wasn't able to tell which set you wound up buying. One of my headlights is currently burnt out and LMC is just down the road so I might go that route.
