89 and up diff covers the same as 88 and earlier?

The application charts I've looked at don't include an 89 blazer, I did some research and in 88 the rear went from 28 to 30 spline axles, but I wouldn't think this would change the cover.

Can anyone confirm? My rear diff is leaking fluid, probably from years of being screwdriver pried off of the housing so I'd like to replace the cover with an aluminum one.

I would get one with a separate drain and fill hole. No need to pry off to change the diff fluid and no worries about the damn thing leaking after putting it back on. I hated that.

@Joel Wilson that is a great idea. I ordered one of the stock looking steel covers but I think I'll just get a different one. I saw one in cast aluminum with the drain plug on the bottom.

Won't be able to paint a bare steel cover around here for a while anyway, too cold!!!
