I have an '89 Blazer with a recently rebuilt 700r4. I like the automatic and OD of the 700r4 so I don't want to get rid of it. I would like to drop the NP241 and replace it with a NP205 and add a twin stick to the 205 prior to installation.

The problem I have is it seems like every year truck/setup I read about needs different adapters/sized splines. I am having difficulties figuring out what I need.

So, What do I need to successfully swap out my 241 to a 205?

AND

Does anyone on CK5 sell everything I need?

I like one stop shopping if possible. :D

you need a 27 spline 205 from off a th350, get the adapter with shifter and boot too.

you need a techpack fitzall spacer something something, cant remember part number. 75q3a is a guess

then you may or may not need to trim 1/8 of an inch or less off your trans output shaft.

might need to move the console in the k5 back and cut a new hole in the floor.
you need new driveshafts front ad rear too if im not mistaken.

if it were me i would keep the 241 but clocked up a bit and just put a SYE kit on it.

i been chatting with him in pm's

got him close and few bit's like you say will get him to the finish point.

Thanks Obijuan. Your response is appreciated and fits what SweetK30 has been telling me. It is nice to have additional information.

SweetK30, Your help has been awesome. Just so you know, I posted this prior to my PM to you. I wasn't trying to double up. Just FYI. Thanks for all the help so far.

I have been doing some research and have found some information that might prove useful in my effort to keep the 241 and help mitigate the chain issue. The ONLY reason I don't like the 241 is the front chain drive. It would have been so much better, in my opinion, to make it gear driven.

If I can find the best way to strengthen the 241, then it stays. I like the lower gear ratio and the OD.

You can put a dodge HD chain inthe case and that's a big upgrade. Then of course the sye. It's already 32 spline front and rear and then you can clock it flat really easily. IMO it's a great case.

I did some looking for NP241, Chain, Dodge, and Upgrade, but I couldn't find anything on the Dodge HD chain. Do you have a link to read information on the chain?
