'89 ignition coil?

i got an auto meter tach for my 89 blazer and they said to hook up a wire to the negative side of the ignition coil....i was thinking of a simple coil, but then i saw it and theres 2 plugs and 2 wires going into each...does anyone know which side is the negative side?

ps...i dont have a volt-meter.

There should be a white pigtail that is like 4 or 5 inches long. Its the smallest wire that doesnt go to the distributor.

yeah, just follow the wires from the plugs, the white wire that goes into the harness is the one to tap, not the white one to the dist.

There should be a wire hanging off the coil wires that isn't attached to anything, YET, that is the tach sense wire. At least my 89 has the wire already there.
