89 k5 np241 questions

I have a 89 k5 blazer I did a 5.3/4l60e swap in and I went and found a 98 with a np241 with a vss sensor I pulled the base that holes the vss and the 40 tooth reluctor ring everything is installed but when I try to put the base on it won't line up with the tabs on the plate that bolts to pump. If I grabbed the pump and that plate off the 98 and installed it on mine would it let everything line up?

By base i'm guessing you're referring to the housing that the VSS is in? If so then you WILL need the housing from a 90-91 Square body passenger side drop t-case.
