Right now I'm looking for a place to do the tear down. (For safety reasons have little kids and I'd never hear the end if they would get hurt.)

Sweet. I just painted mine with Rustoleum flat black. Got lots of compliments so far. Cant's beat it for $34 per gallon.

Agreed the only downfall is its not UV friendly and will fade over time but for the cost I'm not going to complain.

Those setups were all the rage in the '80s and '90s. I wonder if the cover would crack when the frame flexed. Good luck.

Made some minor progress today pulled the top off, cut the tail gate out that the PO welded in place and removed the sun visor.

Friday I think I'll pull the driver and passenger windows get the doors ready to get halved and mock up the potential boat-siding measurements.

The pic below was taken before removing the tail gate & sun visor.

Took the truck out for the first run w/welded diffs tonight. Although no crazy deep mud but some shallow slippery stuff. Which easily became a issue in 2wd but locked in 4wd pulled right through hopefully the axles hold up for a bit. Overall I'm happy with the results!
