Has anyone delt with the best buy dash kit for there blazer. there is prolly 10 different plastic pieces and not one bit of directions. ive got the harnesses done and ready to go but all these pieces have me stumped thanks for the help:confused:

I have an Xplod in my 88. I didn't use a kit. The dash and trim were cut to the size of the 'cage' that the deck slides into. There will be like a 1/4" gap between the OE trim and the metal in the dash. I pushed out the tangs in the cage into this gap to keep from crushing the trim. I then pushed the tangs out behind the steel in the dash to make it structurally sound. When it's all done, the small plastic trim ring that came with the radio covered my dremel work and it looked good.

That is to say, I can't help you with the kit, but there are other options.

My deck just slid right in and fit perfect... Its not held in by anything, but it was a tight fit and its not coming out.

One letter change and that is a weird statement.. lol.

Mine went in essentially the same as rebelgregory and Deuling, install the metal bracket that comes on the deck itself, slide the new deck in, attach the plastic bezel, that's all she wrote.

An install kit would really only be useful if it includes the wiring harness adapter and you're replacing the stock deck. Otherwise you just need to do some soldering and shrink tubes.
