Not everyone likes these but I know there are a few that do (like myself). Dorman is now making what appears to be complete replacement mirror assemblies.

Left: Dorman part #955-830
Right: Dorman part #955-831
+/- $105 ea

Good to know since my Suburban has them. I always worried if something happened to them that they would be hard to find. Looks like Summit has them for around $92

I was glad to see this too. I've bought a couple of extra sets here and there to have extras "just in case ". I'm worried about breaking them while wheeling. .

Great to know!

That being said, the upper head is exactly the same as the 92-99. So as long as you don't break the door mount piece, the upper head is a direct replacement from the newer truck. I've personally replaced mine with the newer upper parts as needed, and significantly cheaper.

There was a company...maybe the the one who built them for gm...who made the same mirror but with heat and built in t/s lights behind the mirror. Sent an email last year and of course they no longer make them. Can't remember the name of the company though...

You should be able to retrofit the head from the 92-99 aftermarket signal/heat mirror. Some of the stock 96-99's came with heat.

Good to know, I learn something new every day here.

Now I just need to find the controls for the door.

I will have some someday

Nick (bix) has a set and he is getting rid of...maybe send him a pm Eric?

I saw these same part number mirrors on eBay for $75 each.

I'm completely tapped out right now fellas.

When the Jimmy gets its new ( well newer) engine and its driving again I might could free some up.

I'm sure as soon as I have some greenbacks there gonna all disappear lol
