I am in need of some help, I am looking at a 90 blazer. I have a 74 but had a career ending accident (for the poor blazer, Major Frame Damage) with it earlier this year. Anyway i will be swapping all the gear into the 90 My questions pertain to the engine/trans of the 90.
My 74 has AFI Fuel injection TBI on a 383, Stand alone 700r4 with lockup but not wired to the computer at all and a 10 spline 205 Advance Adapter shaft in the trans. The trans was installed well b4 the fuel injection. I unfortuantely do not know how the internal wiring of the 700r4 works, other than 12 volts for lockup.
Will i be able to swap the 383 motor /trans/case from my 74 directly into the 90 and be able to use the stock harness for the trans and motor with maybe just a chip swap?
My other large question is the serpentine belt, Will it bolt up to the 383? the year of the motor is unknown, it is a 2 piece seal/ 4 bolt block. do the accesory hole all line up after the 86 motor year?
Any help will be appreciated, its a sad day to see my 74 pulled apart.

Can't help on the swap. However want to remind you that you can convert the new one to a full convertible. Just cut the old windshield below the half way and keep the parts off the doors and the topper your good to go.

Many more members here at brain trust will be able to help on swap. Good luck.

The belts will work and if the tbi swap was "factory" it should work meaning if you did it as it was on a 87 and up the harness should work. The transmission wiring may require some work and maybe a connector.

The serpentine belt should work just fine, as far as the fuel injection it kind of depends on your cam, http://www.tbichips.com/ would be a good source of info for you. Others will chime in on this I am sure but a 383 needs more fuel than the stock injectors can supply it seems
