Working on redoing the ac system in my 90 jimmy. The compressor was changed 3-4 years ago before I got it but every spring when I go to turn on the ac it’s been empty. Get it refilled and it goes for the summer but never been impressed. Also living in Texas ac systems are taxed hard here.

So far I have added tint, heavy duty fan clutch to try and help but now looking at some upgrades.

Looking at getting a new ac delco compressor and have been told a 94 truck blower motor makes a big difference so plan on adding that. But I have also been told it’s better to upgrade your condenser with a spectra 7-3642. Has anyone heard of this? Also is there a ac delco version if so? Been trying to stay oem hoping the quality is better

I believe, ( I can't remember at the moment, ) that I installed that condenser. Parallel flow, correct?
I went away from the junk R4 compressor and installed a Sanden style, with a Ferd blue orifice tube. I have been pleased with if for several years. And it still holds freon.
It did require custom hoses to be made, however.

I detailed this a little better in my Canyonero thread but there’s also a modern fan that you can swap on. I am in San Antonio and I’m looking forward to this year with an insulated suburban than the bare crew cab.

I will look at yours. I plan on adding a champion radiator and spal fans but trying to see if I can make it work with mechanical. I love the setup but the electric fans get annoying
