been searching. im thinking that maybe the cat is blocked?? any way to tell for sure? runs poor and a bit hotter then it use too. need this back on the road right now. if its the cat i was going to open it. clean it out. buy a new one down the road and put it in.

thanks

all signs of a bad cat, bad or stalling at idle, running hot, poor high rpm performance and mileage...... does it smell like rotten eggs? thats the surefire sign of a bad cat... you can run a vac test too...

hook gauge to an intake vacuum on the intake manifold or throttle body. Note the reading at idle, then raise and hold engine speed at 2,500 or so. The needle will drop when you first open the throttle, but should then go up and stabilize. If the reading starts to drop, pressure may be backing up in the exhaust system.
