Everyone around the Wabash Valley, please help. Please keep your eyes out for my Brother's truck. He's known on here as Rad Tad:

Illinois Veteran License plates: 12766NG. Left rear fender caved in behind the tire.

Overnight, it was stolen from behind the Lighthouse Mission where our Uncle had parked it. He was borrowing it. It was taken sometime between 8p and 6:30a today. It will have two different sets of wheels on it. The ones on the rear are from my truck (the other one in the pictures). If it is spotted, please notify myself and the authorities. Thanks!

is it legal to have vehicle parked where/ when your uncle was there? possible it was impounded by the police if it was illegally parked? just a suggestion. good luck

I wish it was that easy. Unfortunately, it was in the usual parking lot for the facility. There's often a dozen vehicles or so out there. My Uncle does construction so his tools were there, plus there was a small sub box in the back, but I guess they wanted more than the stuff that was in the truck.

man that sucks bro hope you get her back soon and unmolested. Makes me wonder what kind of theft deterent most are using? I'm thinkin about a club or something like that for the wheel and a battery switch possibly or just to the ecm or injectors or something so that i can hear it cranking.

Do not rely on the club. 30 seconds with a hacksaw blade through the plastic steering wheel and the thing is defeated! Personally, I'm considering installing a lock on the transfer case selector. That way, I can lock it in neutral with the brake set. The truck can be warming up on the driveway and I won't have to worry about it. I figure it someone wanted to steal it then, I would hear it revving, but it would not go anywhere. Then I could go pull them out at gun-point...and charge them for the gas they just wasted:haha:

What Luck....

The police report has been filed, now all there is to do is wait.... The only person that truck has any real value to is me. The real kick is that I had planned on storing it at my parents untill my uncle said he needed it, so I put liability only on it without a second thought..... :doah: That one hurt...

I guess all I can do now is to ask any 'wheelers in the Terre Haute/Wabash Valley area to keep their eyes out for it. Like my bro posted earlier, it is a all white 1990 K-5 with blue interior and Illinois Air National Guard plates. There are not too many white K-5's that I have seen in the area, so I'm hoping it will stick out to someone....

Anyway, thanks to all who are looking and have looked...

Sorry to hear that. I'm up in the Lafayette area, and I'll definitely keep an eye out as well as let others know. Keep us posted if you hear anything.

Recovered, but in unknown condition...

I just got a call from the Terre Haute police, it has been found, but as of now I'm not sure of the condition. The passenger side door glass is all busted out, and the wheels/tires are gone along with the stereo. I'm going to go after work tomorrow or Saturday to survey the damage. I'll post pics as soon as I can. The police are processing it as a crime scene as we speak, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they find the S.O.B.'s Thanks again to all ck5'ers that kept a look out for it.

Man that blows! unfortuntily our trucks are so easy to steal. been thinking bout installing a alarm system in mine for years, maybe its bout time to do it.
shame im not closer to u guys i got a set of 31's on rims i would donate to ur cause. good luck!

Due to it still being investigated, I couldn't really crawl in it and see how bad things were. It did look like the wheel studs on the left rear had been sheared off (or at least were shorter than they should have been. I noticed there were no lugnuts lying around. The column was a little torn up, but again, I couldn't dig close. The console lid was torn free as that's where the changer was. The head unit was gone. Otherwise, there just seemed to be a bunch of trash and papers lying inside.

On a side note.... and I just realized it; one of the Deputys picked up a 4-way lug wrench, with his bare hands. I was on the phone w/ my brother at the time. He asked me to ask him if it was in the truck. When Mike and I responded 'No', the deputy just chucked it over out of the way. They're fingerprinting the truck, I can't believe he just tossed away the tool that they might've used to take the wheels off of the truck.

Honestly they dont care. Your lucky to have the truck back. All they are going to do is some BS paperwork and send you and the truck on the way.
