I have a 90 sub with the 350 all stock. I stopped driving it about a month ago to get it ready for paint but I have started it weekly. Now it starts but spins over much longer than normal, about twice as long as it used to. Ideas??

i had this issue on my 76 k5 right before my ignition module failed. Idk if thats it but something to think about if its a high mileage vehicle

my guess would be fuel.

i had a diesel that would be fine unless i let it sit for more than a day or two. there was a small leak somewhere...never found it....that slowly let the fuel run back to the tank, then when i went to start it, it would take a bunch of cranking to get the fuel back up there.

not sure with an electric fuel pump if this scenario is possible but you could check by letting it sit then spritzing some gas or starting fluid in the TB and see if it fires up.

I'm gonna guess weak fuel pump. If it's weak, it could take a while to build up the required psi to start (9-13psi).

Does it spin over slowly or does the starter spin like before? It could be that even though you start it weekly, your battery might be dying a slow death because it's not being charged by the alt. like it was when you were driving it.

Spins over fine, batt. sounds strong. It spins longer than normal even if I cut it off and start it right back up. I hadnt thought about the fuel pump. I replaced the pump a couple years ago but it could be going bad. I'll check the pressure.

To see if its a fuel delivery problem, cycle the key on (don't start), wait 10 seconds, turn off. Cycle on again, off again, on again, off again. Then start. If it starts immediately, you know it just needs to prime itself a few times...which makes me think you have a bad pump and/or check valve.

When you turn the key on without starting the engine can you hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds then shut off?
If not. The fuel pump relay may be bad.
