just looked at it with a friend. look under it has a th400/205.

i thought all 1 ton 4x4 cc had a 4l80e. he said the 4l80e was a option. i never heard this before.

true or he does not know what hes talking about.
thanks

It would probably be best to check the option codes. My 91 was a fairly base model former USAF truck and it had a 4l80e. The only real option on my truck was a/c so I would think if a 400 was available it would have had it but it did not.

Sure it was an option ... the other choice is a manual ;)

Pretty sure that for the 1991 R/V trucks, autos got the 700R4 (1/2 ton) or 4L80E (3/4 and 1 ton.) Don't believe that 2WD/4WD matters.

same as yours then, stripped down air force truck, has a/c too thanks

Check on the manufacture date of the truck. Sometimes real early, or real late vehicles in a production year sometimes recieve components of the year before, or the year coming.

Could be a very early '91 but happened to recieve a TH400, like a '90.
