Hi all,
I have a 91 Jimmy new engine has been installed, approximately 9000 miles on it. It has had a code 43 problem since I bought it. I have changed all of the ignition components, including the knock sensor and wiring. I noticed the TBI leaking fuel and changed that with a spare I had laying around. My question is with a scan tool hooked up it looks like the ECM wants to command a idle of around 1000 rpm. IAC valve numbers in the 70's. The coolant temp sensor is functioning correctly. It also has a new EGR valve and gasket. I have set the timing at base of 0* with the plug disconnected. Will unplugging the IAC and turning the screw out adjust the idle? Wondering because everything points that the ECM wants it to idle at 1000 rpm. Since replacing the TBI it will backfire through the intake if you give it quick throttle burts.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, Slacker 2620
