91 K5 200k miles. Last winter I did the hub bearings, recently did the box and box support upgrade.

I have a popping noise in the front end. Only notice it on tight turns with hubs unlocked (warns). The only thing I see is some play (up and down) on the passenger side where the axle enters the hub. Could it be the bearing that's in the spindle? (The drivers side has no play up and down)
(I think there is one in there to support the axle).
Let me try and post a video to show the play..

Ok, one more noise. The AC Delco reman box is now doing exactly what the old box was doing . When turning the steering wheel the box shafts the pitman arm connects too moves in and out of the box and makes a popping noise. Now I know my 84 K2500 is quiet as a mouse, so this can't be ok.... can it? I'll try another video to show what I'm talking about.

Thoughts??? Thanks guys!

About the steering box movement - it's not adjusted correctly and it may be too late to correct it if there's any inside damage. It's not likely that it was anything you did, after all--- all you did was install it - right?

This is totally a rebuilder's fault - take it back for another one.

The other front end noise - I have to same thing on my K5/'86 and it's been there since I first owned the vehicle. Mine is front spring motion - but my leaf springs had a snowplow kit put in them by me a long time ago and I noticed some grooving where the leaves slide along each other and I feel that's the problem I have.

The springs tweak when I turn sharply, or even just change direction when they are deeply flexed. It's not a real problem - mostly aesthetically so. I don't think they'll fall apart in the next century or so.

My references (LMC) say that you have leaves on your '91, like my '86.

If not, ignore me.
