91 rear interior panel build

I thought about buying the rear interior panels online but didn't care for the design patterns they offered and for $7/8 hundred I figured I could do it cheaper. So, I decided to custom build my own with a marine black vinyl and two 6 1/2 speakers in each Luan plywood panel (got the 4x8 sheet for free).

I'm going to use batting behind the vinyl for a bit of cushion held down with a spray adhesive.

For anyone who has built their own panels did you glue or staples to secure the fabric to the plywood or a combination of both?

You will end up with a better product.

I did ~1/2" foam, spray on glue to adhere foam, with marine vinyl, stapled vinyl to the panel- still in great shape after 20+ years.

Passenger side panel - 6 1/2-inch speakers and the cut out above the wheel well is for the amp in which only the top face will be exposed.
