Hey Guys, just thought i'd share my excitement.

I sold the e12 BMW i had, and purchased this burb. I'm super excited, cause i thought it had sold, and it turned out it was still for sale.

If the 91 Crew Cab K30 is the holy grail of 1 tons, this thing is the holy grail of suburbans.

1991, last year of old body style.
350, runs great, MUST have been rebuilt recently....need to check
4l80e, rebuilt, only year of this trans in this burb.

No rust anywhere, 195k on body, body not perfect, decent interior.

I'll post up more info later. THis truck has always been a dream of mine, ever since my parents sold the 90 i grew up in.

For a stock truck, i think they actually look ok on that body style. They look crappy on the 92 burbs though.

I think these wheels/caps are nicer than teh 90's 3/4 ton ones.....but im hunting down some 2000+ alcoa stocks to replace these.

definately a swet truck.. looks Cleeeeean...

How'd you find that one? I've been keepin and eye for one just like it for awhile with no luck...

Nice score. Even has the electric mirrors, too.

Was it only the 1 tons that came with that tranny? I thought all the 91s had 7004r in them. Oh and I thought the 1 tons all came with those trucker lights on the top of the cab. Shows what I know.

I just pick up this 3/4 ton. It has 130k on it.

91 3/4 ton Subs had the trans in them also. Nothing is 100% sure thing with GM but most likely if it is a 91 3/4ton sub it has the 4L80E. Check it and figure out which one you have.

My day would be a lot happier if i didnt' just rear end someone in bumper to bumper traffic.

5mph, first rain of the year, she stops, i hit her. Burb is fine, but the back of the Ford van is gonna need some work :(

Hopefully its under the $750 i have to report, and hopefully she is cooperative and doesn't report it until after we get estimates.

Ok, so i spent 12 hrs in teh garage today. After my other truck failing smog, i had to retime it twice, smog it, then set it back.

Made some progress on little things on the burb.

Got new door striker bushings installed, so now the drivers side doors don't rattle. Cut open a set from kragen that were for a bronco tailgate, worked great.

Installed a pioneer cd player i had sitting around, as well as an FM modulator for my ipod, and a switch/relay so i can turn the stereo on w/o the key.

Also wired up a new flat 5 trailer harness. Bought a flat 4 tie in setup, then connected the flat 5 to it, and tapped into the reverse lights. This setup is needed for more boat trailers w/ surge brakes and electronic release. First time i've ever had a real flat 5 setup, and im stoked!

Also replaced the exhuast manifold/downpipe dougnut so no more exhaust leaks!

Want to pull the running boards off, but kinda want somethign there, as i find my self using them a lot. GOtta think about that one now.....

Nice Burb! I'm in the proces of finding one too. Been searching CL like a hawk as well.

That blue 91 is a gem as well, but I want mine to be flat black and put an SM465 in it.

Welcome to the 4L80E club. :waytogo: You're going to love it. I love my power mirrors, too. Did you get the overhead console? What color is your interior? C'mon, pimp some more pics, you know you want to. :wink1: I'm about to turn 195K myself. I still have those hubcaps and rims, I think I'll hang the caps on my garage wall. What are you're plans for it?

Dang if you want it to be flat black you can have any color that's easy. Good luck on the SM465 though, I've never ran into one before in a '91. Of course I'd never heard of a '91 2500 burb with a 700R4 until a few months ago.

Yup, got the overhead console too. Ive got power windows on my 94, but they don't work....so this is a treat:haha:

Grey interior.

I was totally going to keep the hubcaps and hang them up if i sold the tires!

Plan to travel/camp in it some while i'm in school. I'd love to throw a 4" and 35's on it, but doubt that will happen for a while. On teh look out for osme newer 2000+ 8 lug stock alcoa's wiht some tall tires, or maybe some aftermarket rims with 33 12.50's. Anyone know if this speedo is mechanical or electronic? For now, i want:

A tach
A better stereo
33's
Repaint the roof/hood(probably rattle can)
remove running boards
Exhuast.

From there, we'll see.

It's electric. Sometimes I wish I had grey interior, since it would be easier to find matching new model seats, but blue is my fav color, oh well. I've done the 33's, 4", and I'm in the middle of the stereo install. I need paint, exhaust, and a tach, too. Doesn't seem like that was a good year for clearcoat. Almost every 89-91 I've seen has issues on the hood and roof with clear. On my '87 I pulled off my trim and found a bad spot, so I sanded, sealed, zinc primed, and nice auto rattle canned the spot and it was barely noticable. It'd probably be pretty easy to color match white. ;)
