91 suburban WINALDL problems.

So, for some reason my winaldl will not read the computer on my buddies 91 4x4 350/4l80e 3/4ton stock truck. It reads my 90 just fine but wont read his. Any insite?

Make sure in the configuration that you have the correct ECM checked. I'm pretty sure that it doesn't use the "7747" ECM.

Winaldl will not work on the '91 w/ the 4l80e. His Suburban most likely has the 14167060 PCM that runs at a higher baud rate than 1990. Try TunerPro http://tunerpro.net/ He probably will also need the $85 mask that he can download from Moats.

Got it! THanks! So with tuner pro(i already have it downloaded) is there anything i need to do to it to make it read his comp? settings wise? Do i need to download the $85 mask for it just to read his computer?

You do need to download the correct files. I don't think you need the $85 (that is for editing) to read, but you do need another file - I can not remember what type it is (maybe an xdf files???). It is on Moates.

So i searched on http://www.moates.net/ and could not seem to find any more info on downloading a different file to work with his 8747 computer. Any tips on where to search for it?

datamaster is a great and easy program. Download/install/open/go to record data/either record or monitor and bang you have data. 20 free reads with the program trial so you can see if you like it.
