hey guys i have a buddy who just bought a 1992 blazer. the guy he got it from had blown the engine. so we pulled the bad motor out and replaced the longblock..it wont start but we can put a little fuel in the tbi and it will start up and run and drive but when u kill it, it wont restart unless you pour a little fuel down tbi, then it will start up and run.. can a tbi lose prime? the fuel system pumps up but wont initiate the start??? any suggestions? thanks for any help!!

no fuel pump is workin n its got gas or it wouldnt run?? u can hear it pump up pressure n shut off but it wont start unless u put a lil gas in tbi..then it will run n drive until u turn it off again n then it will not start unless u put a lil fuel in tbi again..its got me perplexed..do these things have a low oil pressure shutoff?? thats all i can think it is..that the lil fuel dumped in is enough to start it to get pressure up then the "shutoff" "lets" it run or maybe when u hit starter somehow its killing the b+ to injectors or the pump like it does all the other circuits? i really think it sumn simple but not a fuel injection guy..:dunno:
