my brother ha a '92 Chevy and wheni went to take off in it Thursday it'd run for a sec then stop. start it it'd run then stop. did it about 5 times. well then it just wouldn't start anymore. figured fuel pump so i came back the next day and decided to try it (and figure out what's up with it) and it started. ran for like a minute while i talked to my mom then died. started it and it ran for a second then died. did it numerous times again. by this time i'm mad. then i just left it for the night and borrowed my dad's Ranger.

apparently while i was at a wedding the next day my brother started it and it ran just fine for the entire day. he's drove it all over. i hadn't drove it since til today. went out today and tried it and it took like 10 seconds to start then it started and ran. took off down the road and it made it a 1/4 mile and died. liked to never got it started again. when i did i hauled ass towards the house and parked it.

ok sorry for the long thread but it's AGGRAVATING!!

specs: 92 Chevy 350 TBI

i thought it might be wiring but idk even where to start. maybe the coil or distributor?

BTW it's gettin fuel all the time. injectors are working fine.

This would tend to make me think it is the pickup coil in the distributor. But if it is not stumbling, I can't guarantee it. I would start at the distributor and start testing all the components there.

Sounds like the truck just doesnt want you driving it...:haha: :doah: Alright sorry, it was just to easy. I would agree with the above and start at the distributer and work out from there...

You could try replacing the ignition module but you said it was getting gas thru the injectors. If the module is bad the injectors wont fire.
I am going to guess fuel pump. Check your fuel pressure before replacing a bunch of parts.
If it is hard starting: Cycle the key on and off till the fuel pump shuts off a few times. Then start it. If it starts right up like normal you have a fuel pump going out.

trust me i know this already. thanks guys. was beginning to wonder if anyone was gonna respond but i figured atleast one person would know. i just decided to let my brother fix his own damn truck for once and i'll get my Blazer running again...for a weekend, til i decide to tear it up again:doah:
