ok guys so here is the deal. Our tow rig is '94 crew cab 454/4l80e/ 4x4 w/ 4.10s long bed. truck does great empty..but on our last trip we were grossing 18,500lbs. needless to say it needs to tow faster, harder and not gear hunt.

mods im looking for
1. chip(cant find tuners)
2. cam?
3. trans control?

any help, links, vendors etc would be great

If you want to do the tuning yourself, you can't go wrong with the combination of parts and software I use.

I use TunerPro RT for my programming. http://www.tunerpro.net/

I use an Ostrich 2 to emulate the PROM. With the Ostrich 2 I can change anything on the PROM program while I drive.:D http://www.moates.net/product_info.php?cPath=31&products_id=169

I use a chip adapter with the OEM chip to plug the Ostrich 2 into the ECM. http://www.moates.net/product_info.php?cPath=31&products_id=32

I use TTS DataMaster data logging software. http://www.ttspowersystems.com/DataMaster_downloads.html

If your looking for someone to help with a plug and play PROM ... try Sinister Performance. http://www.gmtuners.com/

I think the best way to wake up a 454 is with an MPFI system like I did! http://www.coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=254023

How many miles are on it? I think you're asking quite a bit of the truck.
I have an '00 OBS K3500 with an identical drivetrain to your truck and with my k10 on a trailer and a bed load of supplies for the trip it's as much as I'd ever want to tow (at least where I tow that requires pulling some pretty gnarly hills).
My sister has an '00 C2500 with the vortec 454/4L80E/3.73 setup and it tows really well even with 3.73's and the only difference is her's has a new 4L80E so I think the tranny makes a pretty big difference when it comes to putting the power down in these older trucks.

Assuming your drivetrain is in good working order and the engine is all tuned up I'd say you're best bet is to start with the usual intake/exhaust and then contact www.blackbearperformance.com I've heard great things about his tunes and have talked to him about tuning my 454 in the past.

yeh truck has under 150k. and it does ok on flats but hills are where i want it to pull. idk i got a buddy with a 460 auto CCLB with 4.10s and 33 and he can pull way harder....

That's exactly how my setup is. I can pull anything I want at 55-60mph in OD on the flats but hit some decent hills and forget about it.
