Hoping a few of you guys have done this mod cause idk what’s causing my issue. upload_2018-8-19_23-25-6.jpegtonight i went to install a kit I bought off amazon that turns on all four lights when you turn on the high beams upload_2018-8-19_23-15-44.png
I got it all wired up per the instructions tapping the high and low positives but when I tried it.. first my head lights wouldn’t come on in low beam, and in high beam just the high beams came on. Secondly I’m low or high I got a sizzling sound coming out of the light switch and all the gauge lights flickered and I could smell a very slight melting smell.. weirdest of all is my power locks started actuating themselves! upload_2018-8-19_23-22-28.jpeg

I turned off the head lights and all went back to normal. I’ve unplugged all the wiring till I have it figured out, but I’m thinking either the relay wiring is off or the instructions are?
But I still can’t imagine why I was messing with my locks? Any ideas?

Get rid of those scotchlocks , that will cause you problems in the future

Run the low beam power wire from the headlight low/high switch through a relay (assuming normally open relay) (power source in, load out, coil pos, coil neg). Run/ jump the low beam power load side wire to the load side of the relay from the factory low/high switch. Take the relay coil pos wire and tie it into the high beam load side of the factory high/low beam switch. Ground the other coil wire.

Low beams should work like stock (when the factory switch calls for low beams, the low beam wire is bypassing the low beam relay and just energizing the load side), high beams should work like stock but adding a low beam relay to activate when high beams are triggered to energize the low beams at the same time.

Hope that makes sense, hard to transfer wiring diagrams into a paragraph...

I finally took some time to look at it today and it turns out the relay harness they sent was wired incorrectly. I took all of the plugs out and put them back in the correct order and now it works great! But somewhere along the line I must’ve tripped something in the electrical cause now this security light won’t stop blinking and that security box is making a slow ticking noise at random times
