I have a 94 k3500 7.4 I was driving and it just died,I get out, got fuel but no spark so on a whim i replace the coil and nothing.
So #1 on to my questions 4 wires to coil two go to dist. and two red and white wires where do they go? I'm guessing 1 is keyed hot and the other tach?? which is what?
#2 Also where does the coil get it's keyed hot source?I'm thinking of going bat.power to coil to eliminate wiring.
Since I replaced the coil i'm thinking dist module but I don't wanna keep throwing money if it's wiring or the like.Any suggestions
Thanks

GM's are notorious for ignition module failures. I would suggest a new ignition module and even if it's not bad you'll have a spare for the parts box. The other item that goes bad (but less frequently) is the pick-up coil located within the distributor. In order to change it you must remove the distributor and take it completely apart. I'll lay money though on a bad module.

Excuse my ignorance but the module is inside the dist. right? Never worked on the small cap dizzy. Can i change it without removing the dist?
Thanks again

Yes the module is in the distributor and easily changed without removing the dizzy.

Make sure once you remove the old module to clean the surface off and before installing the new module apply a generous amount of the die electric grease that comes with the new module. It's best to keep your fingers off the bottom side of the module as oils from your hands can contaminate the surface.

Thanks for the quick replies! one last question the 350 module is the same right because I have a 350 dist. in the garage.
Thanks

As long as it's also a small body HEI it will be the same. The large body HEI had 2 different modules depending on the year (4 pin and 7 pin).
