Just wondering if i should feel concerned about towing my 32' Travel trailer with my suburban. When i bought the trailer it was delivered by the PO in a stock brand new tundra and he had to travel about 100 miles to drop it off. I think my burb is up to the task but was just looking for conformation.

The truck: 94 burb
454 MPFI with a towing cam and slightly higher compression: HEALTHY MOTOR
14bff in the rear with 4:56 gears
4l80E with a big cooler
3 inch bodly lift
Interior of truck is stripped so it weighs a bit less.
Trailer brake set up
reese HD hitch (biggest i could find)
Air bags in rear to help with squatting
add a leaf in rear with 2500 stock springs
new brakes on truck

The trailer:
32' kingsport with two slides
roughly 10-11K lbs
Have all the sway control bars, etc

I just got this truck running well enough to tow with it and would like to give it a try. My travel trailer is on another property i have at the beach and need to move it so we can do some landscaping and earth work.

We attempted to pull the trailer to the other side of our lot with a 1500 chevy and it slammed the truck on the ground so we never attempted it. I lowered the tongue jack and the truck never stopped going down so we decided that was a bad idea!

Any other parts or mods i should consider before i give it a try?

I would say no problem, make sure you use a sway control and weight distributing hitch, and level it to the trailer tongue. Let me know what you get for mileage would ya?
I pull my 7K camper with a 2500 6.0 and it does a great job, but I'll be towing 10-11K with it to Moab in Sept. we'll see what its made of then....and it has 195K on the clock right now too....

I think you'll be fine. You won't be flying up any hills but you'll make it eventually. I had an '00 K3500 with a 454/4l80e combo like you and it did fine on flat ground, the hills were just a slow venture.

Why 4.56's? What size tire do you run? As long as it's 35" or below and a load range E you'll be fine.

The truck use to ride on 39's but ive removed the tires and the 6" suspension lift. I figure if im going to use the truck for towing the gears would probably help so ill leave them alone. the way the hitch works there's no way i could of pulled the trailer with it that tall. I think im gonna go by the tire store today and see what they have to offer. Just got a free tire when u purchase 3 tires coupon in the mail last night!

76Z...Ill pm you mileage after i give it a try. my mileage may be low due to the mods on the motor. Has a healthy cam, ported nice heads, etc.

it'll be a hair raiser maybe, the burb has a 9000# tow rating I believe. when I was looking for tow ratings for my 88 the 9000# kept coming up for the 90's ones. of course them are only conservative guidelines so it'll doit. but as dave said I'd get the distribution and sway control.

P.S. That stock tundra has a 10.5k or 11k tow rating

If this is going to be a dedicated tow/haul vehicle I'd slap some 33's on it with your 4.56's and call it a day. You'll be able to cruise along in OD on the flats and kick it into 3rd on any kind of hill (or 2nd when it gets really steep) and you'll be happy.
If you're planning on using this for a mix I'd look into some 35's to keep your highway rpm's down.
There are some metric sizes that work out to about 34". Might be a good compromise.
