in the catalogs the part no are not the same -but does somebody know of any mount that i wouldnt have to completly fabricate? Thanks

The frame mounts may be differnt...but the holes in the blocks are the same. Just use the clamshells from the sub motor when droping the caprice motor in.

All LT1's use reverse flow cooling, The Caprice version has cast iron heads instead of aluminum like the Corvettes and Camaros. Are you sure it is a 5.7? There is also a 4.3 version.

Yeah all I'm saying is that despite the fact its still 5.7L its a completely different motor via the cooling as said. Plus the ignition.

As long as he has the whole thing from oil pan to intake, wiring harness and ECM, it really doesn't matter. The bellhousing and motor mounts are the same, and the radiator doesn't care at all, which way the water flows through the block.

O no I'm not knocking the motor its self. I mean the opti spark is garbage and stops working at the slightest touch of water but I'm just saying its not a good ol gen I 350 smallblock.

The Opti-Spark is not that bad. Especially because in 1995 they vented them, and fixed most of the problems they were having with them. An LT1 is better than 75% of Gen I small blocks out there.

Like I said LT1= good

I just wouldnt optipark an offroader...

If you are planning on submerging the engine under water on a regular basis, probably not, or for a mud bogger. Would be a great engine for rock climbing though.

350 sfi

thanks for the input and the info-i need to ask a tranny-tranfer case q next.btw i do have the whole car so i can utilize all of the added components to make the swap work.

The 4L60E out of the Caprice should bolt right in place, but you are going to have to swap output shafts to make the transfer case fit.
