In my shop. Doing stuff.
I was just given the tile for this van. 1995 g30. 5.7 vortec, 4l80e, Dana 70. 256k miles.

Getting it for nothing. Plan is to pull the trans for my 69 Buick Wildcat build. Should I bother trying to sell the engine and rear end? Van is rust, so it is going to scrap.

Exhaust was cut out. Tires looks to have more tread on the sidewalls, weather cracking.

Just thought, I should grab the mirrors for the Jimmy.

Is that the 12 bolt cover dana 70? Probably too old for that. It's probably 35 spline and a little wide. Might be cool if it's ff. Can't tell. There's a few hundy.
63" springs. Might have hydroboost and a cool power steering resi. Has a ujoint steering shaft you can cut and use and a forward swing steering box.

I know a guy in the springs that may like that D70. I'll text you his number

If they're not power mirrors I would buy them. The aftermarket set I have now stinks.

Van mirror "arms" have a slight bend in them compared to a square body ,but they'll still bolt on and work,or you can use just the mirror heads on the trucks bracketry..

In my opinion 1995 was the last "good" van GM had,the "old" body style's last year..one with that drivetrain would now be highly desirable around here..I would keep all the drivetrain parts, sell off the doors and seats,if they are OK..

I would sell the engine, it just may take a little bit to get enough to justify the work of pulling it.

The sidemarker lights will work on '68-'72 trucks. And they fit more flush to the body than the original ones.

Huh,didn't know a G van windshield fits a pickup too...

The engine & trans can be removed as a unit along with the front suspension & cross member by removing the large bolts holding it to the unibody located near the upper and lower control arms...the transmission cross member has 2 thru bolts, you remove those and the member drops down with the transmission..

We used to drop the engine & trans out thru the bottom that way at the junkyard...much easier than taking out the grille and radiator,etc...especially if its never going to re-assembled..once the engine & trans are unbolted the whole assemble can be wheeled away like a wheelbarrow !..

Some think this will make the rest of the van hard to load on a ramp truck or trailer when it comes time to scrap it,but we just used a large log or pipe as a roller to get it up on the ramp truck..

The entire Hydroboost system, and master on my truck is from a similar van, although it had a schoolbus upfit. Mine came from a 96, but the 1 ton vans never got updated until 1997 to the new body style.
It stops very well and needed a simple firewall angle plate to fit.
