We are currently trying to get a 96 s-10 blazer with a 4.3 to run right. It's been sitting for about 3 years and it only has 89,000 miles. It has a trouble code 300, random cylinder misfire, it also came up with all 3 O2 sensors bad. We replaced the rear one but is still showing them bad. We are gonna replace the other two and see if it helps.

As far as the random cylinder misfire, we are suspecting a plug wire or a plug. We replaced the cap and rotor since I have heard that those caps have TSB's for having corrosion inside the caps. Has anyone else had this problem with a 4.3? If so would you suspect a plug wire also? It hesitates off idle and sometimes backfires through the intake.

Is the problem intermittent? May need to replace the whole distributor, it's fairly common.

Bad fuel or a bad spider injector are likely culprits.
What DTCs were stored?
Chances are youre replacing O2 sensors for a lean condition i.e. no good reason.
