Hey all, I've got a 1997 6.5 turbo diesel that shut off while driving, and after replacing a suspected PMD, it still won't start. The injection pump is full of fuel with no air, the lift pump is strong and pumping plenty of fuel, and I checked the current in the wires in the pigtail that plugs into the PMD. All the wires tested great, except for the green wire from the computer. I read you're supposed to have 1.2 volts on that green wire while cranking, but I have 2.2 volts. I'm not sure if that would cause the pmd not to work. All the grounds are clean, the fuel shutoff valve is working properly, and the camshaft sensor appears to be working properly as well because I plugged in my scan tool and it showed rpm while cranking. I unplugged the optical sensor as well and it didn't seem to make a difference. The previous owner said he had the injection pump replaced about a year ago. I took the oil filler tube off to make the injection pump was actually turning, and it was. I bypassed the ignition switch also just incase that was the issue, but that didn't help either. None of the fuses are blown. Glow plugs are working. The injection pump just isn't injecting fuel, because even with the lines broken loose at the injectors no fuel is coming out. The engine sounds great turning over so I don't suspect any mechanical damage. The truck also has no codes. So at this point that seems to leave that voltage issue, or possibly the injection pump itself? I'm really at a loss here, so if anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated. Sorry for such a long winded post, thanks!
