97' GMC Savana for sale in Sac CA

Question? How'd a 3/4 ton get a 700R4? Should of ALL had TH400, like mine. 700's only in 1/2 tons... But the 700's the way to go, built and adjusted properly... Any chance you'd install the turbo diesel and deliver it to upstate NY or environs? Paid in full ,of course! Or accomadate me, and I'll do it in your driveway!

A lot of 3/4 ton 2wd trucks came from the factory with the 700R4. I'm not sure about 4x4's though as those all had TH400's that I have seen (doesn't mean they don't exist).
 
I have an '87 3/4 ton, and the FACTORY brochure says TH400, choice of 3.73's or 4.10, that's it! Most I've seen have the 4.10's. 2wd's could get 4.56's. I guess the 700 wasn't up to the allowed tow limit.
As far a 2wd-700R4, I'll have to review... hmmmmmm???
 
You need to remember they printed more than one version of the brochures too... Suburbans vs. Pickups could have different options. But like I said I don't know if it was an option or not in 4x4's, but I have seen many original C20 pickups and Suburbans with the 700R4 from the factory.

Hey you are welcome to come and do the swap, I can accomodate you in a house and a garage where you can work on it.
But let me know quick because I have someone that wants to come saturday to get the rebuilt TD.
As for the 700 in 3/4 tons:
They were offered on the diesel trucks becasue of the limited RPM's especially when ordered with 4.10 gears like mine.

I've got spare everything.
I have a complete 87 I am parting, I have 2 more parts engines one is a runner long block.
:D I have spare IP's 3 or 4.
