98 c1500 cant read the codes...

helping a friend with this. said a while back the check light was coming on. plug the scanner in and there is nothing. no codes.. he said a 02 and crank sensor where replaced about 2 months ago.

so why cant i see the code? the scanner is a pretty much new snap on i borrowed if it matters.

Sure it wasnt the Maintenance light? i made that mistake on my wifes car.

Prob a blow data link fuse or a fuse blown somewhere. I've had O2 sensors short out and blow pcm fuses. I think there are 3 pcm fuses on that engine

he said it was the check engine light.. also said it came on a while ago. a while ago was about the start of 2010.
