Alright ladys and gents, I've been gone a while (to much work) but lets see if you still have it.
The ranch I'm living on has a 98 k3500 with a 5.7 with 260,XXX miles that is ticking and supposedly the oil pressure drops over time (havent confirmed) that they asked me to look at.
I cut the filter than there was a decent amount of steel in it, when they drained the oil the plug apparently had a bunch of metal on it. I put on a new filter, filled it with oil and pulled the rocker covers, number 3 intake is oiling quite a bit less than the rest (took about 5 minutes to start oiling), but all the rockers move about the same amount, none of them feel excessively loose, and i cant pin down the noise.
any thoughts? or should I just talk them into a rebuild, rip it out and tear it down
