Hey guys , I need some help with the vacuum lines on my sons 98 Monte.
there are two on the upper intake , one on the drivers side front and one on the passengers side rear that I have no no idea where they go to. i just installed a used engine and for the life of me cannot find where these two lines go. any one happen to know or have an idea??or possibly have a diagram showing the routing for the vacuum hose on this car? thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give me.

The one on the front goes to the vacuum modulator on the tranny, if equipped. The one on the rear is not used on most models, but usually an hvac vacuum supply, IIRC.

Behind the power steering pump is the port for the a/c supply. If the pic shows you can see the rest

thanks for the replies guys. turns out , when my son switched the throttle bodies out(one one used motor had a different cam for the throttle cables) he let the gasket slip out of place , causing a massive air leak. still did not find any where to attach the two vacuum outlets to. the transmission already had a vacuum supply going to it. it runs and shifts great with no apparent leaks or anything , so maybe they aren,t needed. Just a guess of course....lol. thanks again

if its runnin good you can just cap them and call it a day.it may have had more accesories than your sons car and you can just eliminate those that dont hook up to anything.if the engine is a different year it may have changed where the vaccuum line route also.if you find that something doesnt work, figure out if there is vaccuum suposed to be running to it and you may have to hook one of them up to it.
