I have been asked a couple times about my truck I just completed.

It is a 98 K3500.

Specs:
89 Ford Dana 60
Offroad unlimited solid axle kit
Sky MFG cross over steering
Sky MFG ubolt kit
Tuff Country 4" EZ ride front springs
1" zero rate
Rough Country N2.0 shocks

Rear:
Rough Country long addaleaf
3" blocks with ubolt flip kit.

Tires and wheels are 20x10 chrome Kaotic on 37" Xterrains.

Total lift over stock is 8".

No front driveline yet as I am still chasing my options on that...frustrating! Should have my cowl hood next week!

Lucky! I've been trying to find a regular cab K3500 between '95 up to '99 or '00 with no luck.

Beautiful truck. I would love to have a single cab K3500.

There have been a couple up here in spokane for sale. I got a smokin deal on this one considering the condition it was in. I had been trying to buy it for 2 years! I have had a bunch of K30's and have always wanted one of these with a 60 in it. After all this one comes with everything we want in a K30....injected 454 and a 4L80...just add the front axle...done!

Truck looks great. Just how they should be built from the factory!

Very nice sir, wanted to get an idea what my 93' fat block will look like with a SAS.

Thanks guys. Super happy with how it turned out. After reading and researching for quite a few years I finally pulled the trigger. Learned A LOT once I got started and completed. I am VERY picky when it comes to detail and driveability. My biggest fight was driveability, I wanted it to drive like stock....well close. I pretty much achieved it, I honestly think if I would drop to a 17x9 wheel on a 12.50 tire I am sure it would greatly improve how it drives.

If you want it to drive good put a track bar in it no matter what, this truck is obviously not a wheeler...never will be as long as I own it. But after running IFS lift kits with similar tires/wheels this truck drives great. I have a couple friends with 97 F350's both on 37's and this truck drives better than those 2 and one has a shackle reversal kit on it. Hopefully before next spring it will have the whipple charger on it. Then maybe 4.56's...should be a real runner then.

Thread jack

Thanks for the info. here's my daily. Been my DD for 11 years. Runs like a top. I couldn't have said it better myself self when you said FI 454, 4l60E, 14 bolt, + Dana 60 = Done! I Have been back and forth about the SAS for yrs now and I am going to finally pull the tigger, (personally I believe the ifs is plenty strong for a lot of things) but you can't beat the all around badassness of a 60. I can't decide on a dsd or psd 60. The psd are a bit easier to find for me right now. But finding the 32 spline 241 has been a bit more challenging at this point. Good info on the track bar, I want it to drive as good as it does now. Running 33x12.50x17 with minor trimming. What to run 35-36 x12.50x18. Lastly do you know if whipple has a kit for a tbi? I have been wanting to blow my 454 (hehe) for a long time. Just doesn't have that extra opphh that a fat block should have. I have been thinking 8.1 conversion with a blower

Very nice!

If that is your only truck, go buy something else to drive before you start your sas. I have to be honest I have fought this sas for the driveability and its way better but would I do it again...probably not. I would just deal with replacing wheel bearings, idler arms etc. I even thought at one point of reframing the truck and putting an IFS lift kit back on it, the only one I'd buy is an RCD.

Take your time and buy a ford king pin dana 60, with all the work you are going to have to do IMO it isn't worth the headache to swap tcases, fab shift linkage, re-route exhaust etc. You will have enough to do just swapping the axle in.

Whipple use to make kits for tbi and vortec but at some point they changed there compressor(blower) design and don't make current kits for the old trucks. I actually bought a suburban with it on it, removed it and resold the suburban to get mine. Feel free and PM me and I will give you my number if you want to chat.

I am SUPER picky so I am probably a little more critical than some who sas to go wheeling. If you are going to do it buy either the off road design brackets or the fabworx brackets. My truck has off road unlimited brackets with 4" tuff country ez ride springs.

Na, I am in the process of building a fuel injected 406 for my stepside, once thats done and back in I will make that my DD or my wifes truck. Still a month or so out.
Good point about the transfer case, you just sold me on the ford dana 60.

I don't plan on wheeling my truck hard, It will 99.9% street driven, that why it's taken me so long to decide to do this. but for the few times a year it goes it needs to be stout.

*might as well pic whore my stepside and my wifes canyon a bit* this pic is a few years old, gone are the nasty 38.5 ground hawgs and bug catcher, now has a cowl and a set real axles, has a D60 DRW with hummer H1's on 37's
