had a guy ask me to change the front driveshaft u-joints in a 98 chevy suburban. there no slip in the driveshaft itself, but it looks like it has a slip yoke on the t-case like a rear output would have. does this sound right? it had a cover over it (t-case) output that looks like a cv joint boot with a clamp. he said someone told him there was a clip you had to remove to push the output yoke into the transfer case to get enough clearance to get the shaft out? any ideas?

The slip is in the t-case. Cut the clamp on the dust boot. Unbolt front joint straps. Move front of shaft towards oil pan and down it willslide out of the t-case.

I cut the clamp at the t-case end. That way it comes out with the shaft. When you go back together put a zip tie(wire tie) on it. I wouldn't leave it off.
