Hey guys parents found a nice 98 Z71 tonight and I was wondering if it was standard for a Z71 to have a 350? I dont want it if it has a 305....

Get the VIN and do a VIN check Also if they can get the codes out of the glove box and these should tell you about all of the accesories. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

i think they stoped makeing the 305 years ago, should be a 350 /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Isn't the engine size on the emissions sticker under the hood?

Im 200 miles from the truck and the parents havent seen it yet, all the dealer did was call and tell them they got it in. I called today and it has a 350 so now to investigate further....

5.7L Vortec, 4L60E tranny and a NV 241 t-case. Rear 10 bolt and weak IFS front. I had one for years but i sold it about 5 months ago. Beat the hell out of it and had 35's with only a BL and lots of fender cutting. Never really broke anything either.

Now i wish i had that vortec in my 87.....

That's not true. It's a seperate option. Most have it though.

Tim is right on the G80, most get it, but its not a part of the Z71 package. also another option is the 14SF rear axle. quite an improvement over the 10 bolt.

The axle in itself isn't an option.

If you have an extended cab with the heavy chassis package though, you're correct...you get the 14 bolt SF.
