Any of y'all have a newer parts truck? I need a push button 4x4 dash switch for my '00 Suburban. The switch selections are Auto 4x4, 2wd Hi, 4wd Hi and 4wd Lo. I'm assuming the '03 and later switches are not compatible.

Yeah, RockAuto is saying '99-'02 and '03-'06. I know a lot of electronics changed between those years. The switches look the same, but have a little different connector.

Well damn, I didn't even know that new ones (and affordable too) were even available. I'll just buy a new one rather than pestering folks for a used one.

I'm not saying there are better message forums than this one, but if you want parts for early GMT800's, there are better places to look.

You could try disassembling and cleaning your current switch. I once dropped one in some coolant and traded working 4x4 for error codes. Cleaned it out and it's been good for a decade +.

I think mine has had a bad connection in it for 8 or more years. It often wouldn't show the selected mode and the backlighting didn't work. But for a year or two now, there's occasionally a message on the dash for a 4x4 fault and you then can't change modes unless you restart the truck.

But a couple days ago, I switched it to 4 Hi and then it would never switch back to 2wd. When I'd start the truck, it would briefly indicate 4 Lo and Auto 4x4 at the same time. Then I'd push 2wd, and Auto 4x4 would light back up and the fault message would appear. I smacked the top of the dash several times and I noticed that with every smack, the button lights would flicker, lol. So I then restarted the truck and pushed the 2wd button... it finally went into 2wd.

I'll just try the Rostra branded switch for the whole 37 bucks that Rock Auto wants for it.
