I’m not afraid for the work to add a 4500. I like the idea of the reliability. I would probably enjoy driving it as well. I just don’t know if I’ll enjoy wheeling it as much with the 3rd petal.
True. That's where the doubler would help.Well the bigger tires on that Texas sized ass is a concern.
Probably a bit of work adding a 4500. But it helps the lowest gear ratio unlike a 4L80
I dont shift it all that muchI’m not afraid for the work to add a 4500. I like the idea of the reliability. I would probably enjoy driving it as well. I just don’t know if I’ll enjoy wheeling it as much with the 3rd petal.
You just started the auto vs manual by arguing with yourselfThis going to detail into a manual vs Auto off road debate. I agree with Ben, if it's already Auto, beef it up and run it.
Swapping to a stick in a late model sucks on multiple levels to do right. Not saying it can't be done, but it's adding cost in both money and time to do. Right now it's a simple r&r job with a quality rebuild.
I will say I miss granny gear in mine though. My 700 is nice, but nothing beats the deep gear of a 465 coming down a steep climb.

Yes that's hilarious, just think you could probably where you need to be with a doubler. So far, just the race radio and a half eaten bag of beef jerky. Lol! What else you missing? I still need to mail the radio back to you. I’ll text you for the address.Yes that's hilarious, just think you could probably where you need to be with a doubler.
@4door99 I'm slowly unpacking from BB and finding stuff I lost, curious what else you have found of mine. Been kind of holding off, have you unpacked everything?

Laughing at arguing with himself. Keeping the 4l60 he probably would be near half the cost of the doubler? You engrish me wong der
What?
I argue with myself all the time. It's the only time I know I'll win one. Lord knows if I argue with the wife I'll most likely loose. You just started the auto vs manual by arguing with yourself![]()
That is why I refuse to put a doubler in my truck. Not needed.@skunked hit @the_blaze in his thread the other day. Most guys get $2-3k invested once the driveshafts are bought
I sold several transfer cases (6?) to off set my costs. Still have not done a proper front shaft
If thats what you mean
I can tell you @4door99 and @Babaganoosh a couple places i used the Doubler on Golden Spike if it matters
You have never had one, but there are some distinct advantagesThat is why I refuse to put a doubler in my truck. Not needed.
Agreed but I won't wheel that truck hard enough to need one.You have never had one, but there are some distinct advantages
And thats part of the assessment that needs to be madeAgreed but I won't wheel that truck hard enough to need one.
