Holy crap! He's back!
Can’t wait to see what you’ve got cooking.I think it’s time to wake this build back up.
Well the cage is a great idea. Put it back together and use it. Just make sure you keep the hvac system working. I gutted my first truck (because race) and regretted it.Well, after BB ‘21 life has really been in the way. A series of small but yet life changing situations have occurred over the last 3 years that have put the Tahoe on the back burner. I’m now ready to get it back to the front.
After BB, I decided that I wanted to make some radical changes that would make it more trail dedicated. Cage, tube doors, and a complete interior removal with functional changes were the beginning of that project. Well as I said, life happened and it wasn’t until fall of 2022 that this project began.

It’s not too much past this point that life happens yet once again and the Tahoe has just sat, in pieces since December of 2022. Furthermore, over the course of this timeframe I have grown to absolutely hate the direction that I’m headed now with the build. I personally feel that I’ve taken a wrong turn. But I can’t anymore just let it sit in pieces, or scrap it. It’s now time to put it back together. Here’s to keeping me motivated.

So it actually is yours?wow that's luckyHead back above water again for a minute! I got a kick of inspiration this week and I figured I should share.
Back in the early 2000’s I had a ‘89 k5 that was my baby, my on going project, my hobby. It’s what at the time got me watching the ColoradoK5 forums and sparked my first interest in attending BlazerBash. Then, 2010 and a divorce came, and I sold my on going hobby. Fast forward to Tuesday of this week. My close friend who also was building a k5 at the time found something on the marketplace of faces. Tuesday afternoon this was sitting in my driveway.

Now with the exception of a couple of details, and the fact that it looks like it’s been at the bottom of a lake for the past 15 years, this is my early days K5. Still with the locked 14 bolt rear, Dana 60 front, sm465 and 205 twin stick transfer case. Half ass roll cage in the interior. The 38” super swamper tires were new when I sold it. Still look new today, minus the Grand Canyon dry rots. No real serious dents or rust on what’s left of the body.
INSPIRATION!!! I have a plan for this, and a plan for the Tahoe that now has me excited. The Tahoe will return to a full interior rig, sitting on 37s once again. It will be a trail rig/tow rig. This is my now hardcore project. And here we go….
It is again now. I don’t know about the lucky part, but it did show back up at the right time.So it actually is yours?wow that's lucky
