'99 blazer serious problem with engine

I really need help with what is wrong with my truck. The other night while driving home, I was trying to accelerate and it got sluggish, and after attempting several times the motor just died. I got it home with a tow truck and I've tried the following: changed spark plugs, changed fuel filter, checked to see if fuel pump is working and it is, put dry gas in tank with several gallons to dry up any water that might be in there, and now when I'm able to start it, the engine seems fine at idle at first, but when I press on the gas, it starts chugging and is real sluggish. It's horrible! Eventually it will die at idle and is hard to start again. Please help
