When I turn the wheel it's sounds like gears are clicking loudly and vibartes the steering wheel alot, this is all while im not moving and at a stand still I am guessing that it is the Steering Box but need someone to help me confirm this. The traditional whine from the steering pump is absent and has plenty of fluid so that I think can be ruled out.

Anyone experience a problem like this before that could give me some input?

on some of the chevy/gmc trucks i know they had a problem with clicking noise and vibration coming from steering shaft gm had a recall or service bulletin on problem hope it helps

Sorry for the post about newer junk just thought i would get a second opinion I almost alway replace things that dont need replaced because I overthink it.
Well the sound is comming from around the steering box and pump and resenates all the way to the steering wheel with vibration and the vibration is pretty strong. the only time I feel it is when i turn right and left while sitting. I don't know im just going to replace the steering box, I never had one go out before but it makes the most sense. It turns easily like normal.

thanks

if you are going to replace the steering box you might want to check joints in steering shaft while box is out

Thank you all for the replys, I have never experienced this problem before. It was the power steering pump I just never knew that the vibration from the steering would be caused by that.
